General Contractor membership is limited to general contractors who have been in construction for at least two (2) years prior to applying for membership in AGC (or, a firm or corporation organized with in that period whose executive managers have had at least two (2) years experience in construction prior to entering such firm or corporation) and who have established a reputation for SKILL, RESPONSIBILITY, and INTEGRITY. A general Contractor is defined as a construction firm owned and operated by an individual, a partnership, a corporation, or a joint venture whereby firm is capable of undertaking work as a prime contractor, using its own forces to perform part of the work. A public body or government corporation or entity does not qualify for membership in this association.
A Specialty Contractor member may be a firm that subcontracts any of the various segments of the general contract from the prime contractor or may be a Specialty Contractor holding a prime contract.
An Associate Member may be a materials dealer or supplier, or a business firm engaged in any form of service to the building construction industry.
Dues are calculated on a flat .085% of volume. Volume includes all contracts put in place in Kansas during the previous year, excluding Johnson and Wyandotte counties. Annual Dues are based on a calendar year ending on December 31. The minimum GC dues will be $765 and the maximum will be capped at $12,750.
Workforce Investment Fund Assessment: Man hours your company experienced in Kansas during the previous year, including those of union employees. This amount should be based on safety reporting hours. These hours will be assessed at $.01 per hour.
AGC of America Dues AGC of America dues (table below) for General Contractor members are calculated on all volume for all contracts put in place. No discount is given for AGC of America dues.
